Leading the E-Commerce Revolution with RANDEMRETAIL’s Two-Hour Same-Day Delivery

SKIMS, co-founded by Kim Kardashian in 2019, is a pioneering brand in the underwear, loungewear, and shapewear industry. The brand was born out of Kim’s quest for supportive undergarments that led her to design her own, with a focus on innovation and affordability. SKIMS offers an inclusive range of nine shades and sizes from XXS to 5XL, catering to all body types and skin tones.

 

The Challenges

SKIMS is committed to continuous innovation and setting new industry standards. Their primary challenge was to enhance customer convenience. With a surge in demand, particularly in the Los Angeles area, they identified the need for an innovative approach for faster order fulfilment with key challenges being:

  • Managing the skyrocketing demand.
  • Keeping pace with the surge, especially in the Los Angeles area.
  • Fulfilling customers’ demand for faster shipping.

 

The Execution

RANDEMRETAIL’s Same Day Delivery powered by UBER emerged as a groundbreaking solution, enabling SKIMS to further enhance customer satisfaction. Using the RANDEMRETAIL OMS (Order Management System) for Shopify and turning on the RANDEMRETAIL Same Day Delivery module, as soon as an order is placed our system dispatches the order and books a courier in collaboration with Uber, managing all tasks from inventory checks to delivery, within a swift 2-hour window, limited to a 10-mile radius in the Los Angeles area.

The system leverages micro-warehousing, utilising small storage units of inventory scattered around the city, with Uber drivers picking up the packages from these locations. This innovative approach has significantly streamlined SKIMS’ operations and delivery process.

 

The Result

RANDEMRETAIL’s Same-day delivery has significantly enhanced SKIMS customer satisfaction, fostering a trustworthy relationship with both new and existing customers. As a result, SKIMS has seen an increase in repeat customers, leading to higher sales and revenue.
